Life is a Game. Either a person has what it takes to play or they don't.
Some are great players and achievers in the field while others are not.
Well, me? I am not sure…

In a Game, it's all about taking decisions…

What move to make…

Which ball to hit…

Each one of these can turn the tables.
So, make the right decision!

During my junior year, I had to make a career decision. This had become one of my biggest worries since my second year of Undergrad. One of my seniors understood the pressure I was under, and sent me a small tree, called the “no-worry” tree. This tree was known to take away all your worries in a snap!

Sitting under this tree for a while, I realized both its logical and practical power. I plucked some fruits from the “Decide what to do and do it” branch and they were filled with motivation and energy. Eating them, I was able to put my worries aside and start thinking…

This tree reminded me that, as engineers, we had to look at problems/challenges as opportunities to build and grow. So, I was going to treat this problem of deciding on my career as an opportunity to build a better career for myself and grow.

For Gen Z, especially for Computer Science students, Google is our go-to place. I typed “how to choose a career” and, as I hit enter, Google hit me with a simple Venn diagram.

Plucking one more fruit from the same branch, I started listing my options….

As I was pursuing graduation in CSE, my options narrowed down to Data Science and Machine Learning. My brain, gut, and intuition said it was the right decision! But how could I know for sure?

When you are playing a game, you never know what the right decision might be. No one knows it, cause none of us are from the future. We think about all the possible options in the present and make a move that feels right to us.

And, the game doesn't end there. They are not won or lost on a single decision. It's a long way to go from that first whistle, the first ball, that first serve! So, ask yourself this: Do you have what it takes to play this game? There is only one way to know!
